Convening mayors together to examine, share and adapt innovative approaches to solve challenging issues is the primary goal of our Mayors’ Institute model. In collaboration with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, we created a series of Mayors’ Institutes to explore the connections across issues to health. From housing and education, to substance use disorders and opioids – the former Culture of Health Mayors’ Institute series (now Cities of Opportunity series), explores the root causes of poor heath and concentrated disparities within zip codes in cities. The goal is to illuminate solutions through expert-informed, mayoral-led discussions that help cities find common strengths and paths forward to solving some of the toughest issues today.
